                  Invasions of Eden
                       A Novel By Will Whetsell

With the emergence of a baffling and deadly neurological illness in a hospital Atlanta, 39 year-old Cassandra Garriman, a brilliant, ambitious and strong-willed medical doctor, traces the mysterious disease back to a deserted island off the coast of South Carolina. She uncovers its alarming potential, though neither infectious nor contagious to spark a regional or even a national health threat as well bioterrorism, international espionage and geopolitical turmoil. It's a medical mystery set in Atlanta and Low Country South Carolina which, as the plot winds tighter and tighter morphs into a suspenseful thriller with an astonishing, thoroughly unexpected conclusion. But... it is also a cautionary tale warning of something dangerous that may be lurking though few people know about it and most have never heard of it.

Will Whetsell, a native of South Carolina, is a neurologist and neuropathologist living in Nashville, Tennessee.

Watch out, you might stay up all night. This book is SUCH a page turner that I had insomnia while reading. The best part is that it is written by an actual scientist, so the scientific elements woven through this highly suspenseful plot make this a unique and absolutely fascinating read. I could not put it down!

Medical Mystery. This is a medical mystery with an unusual culprit. Watch out for surprising plot twists toward the end of the book. There are several loose ends that may form the basis for a sequel.  William

Perfect blend of fact and fiction. A page-turner with the scientific elements blended perfectly into the plot. Using his medical knowledge as the backbone of a fictional story made for a fantastic and unique novel! It is obvious from the setting that the author lived in (and loved) the area.  D. Emory

Exciting new author on the literary scene. A true page turner laced with colorful and rich character development and descriptions of the setting. The perfect rainy day or take to the beach read. Just be sure to bring sun lotion.  Sally

Great medical mystery; a skillful blend of fact and fiction. Whetsell is able to explain some pertinent and complicated issues extremely well for non-medical as well as medical readers. It's a page turner.

Invasions of Eden is a medical mystery/thriller which combines historical fiction and facts with contemporary fiction and facts. That kind of information jampacked into a rollicking good story makes Whetsell a uniquely qualified story teller. He is a genuine expert in what he is writing about, and because of that, he is able to create details which are inherently woven into the fabric and backbone of Invasions of Eden as a narrative.

Invasions of Eden is an effective blend of what, referentially speaking, feels like writings of F. Scott Fitzgerald or Dr. Robin Cook. Whetsell writes with a kind of unpretentious candor, not sacrificing evocative and heady word choice but maintaining a tonal claustrophobia that brings the reader immediately close to the central characters while it still feels big and panoramic. He stands apart from his literary peers because of the scope of the read. This kind of writing skill is not just admirable, it is commendable.
